I am having fun exploring new colors, sizes & mediums this summer. The colors outside are really inspiring my color palette- I can’t help but use all the beautiful colors I see! I am also preparing for a new show in Atlanta in August, Piedmont Park Art Festival.

I snapped some quick pictures of new small paintings. {Disclaimer: I am very jealous of artists who take awesome pics for their blogs. It makes them look very fancy & professional. But I’m posting terrible pics anyways—cheers & applaud!}

Here are a few pictures of what has kept me busy this fall.

This series is still for sale. It is a new size I’ve been working on, 6×11 inches on matte board.

This is a commission series for a customer in my hometown, Meridian, Mississippi. She wanted a series of 3 or 4 paintings to go above her bed. I painted several sets for her to choose from (they are laying on her duvet).

This series was an interior designer job. I did a series with this color palette this past summer…their client liked that series so I painted a similar set for them.
This is another interior design job. The colors are a citron greenish gold, suede, champagne taupe & I added some metallic pearl. The fabrics for this job are gorgeous. I hope to see the room when it’s complete.

My holiday show schedule:
December 1- Various artists at the home of Debra Porter, Meridian, Mississippi. 1-4 pm. Email me for directions.

December 6- Homewood Creatives, 5-9
December 7- Homewood Creatives, 10-4 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Homewood, Alabama

December 5-19 Mountian Brook Art Association Holiday Show at Brookwood Mall (in the old Gus Mayer space) 10am-8pm daily

I am so excited to finally show these paintings to y’all! Check out the site!! It has truly been my joy to paint each painting. I love it when God gives me an idea & I get to see it actually happen in real life. I painted this series to honor & bless Sherry Pierce Hartfield. Click on “about the paintings” (link above) to read the whole story. I also want to encourage each reader, male or female to get a yearly check up. It is so very important to know what’s going on with your body & the earlier you can catch a problem the better. Even a yearly check up may not detect a problem. So listen to your body, if you think something may be wrong…go get checked out! And last I want us to remember the ladies in our lives that have passed away due to cancer. They remind us that life is fragile. Time on this earth will pass, sometimes to quickly. Pat Isbell was one of those ladies to me. She was my best friend’s mom. I spent as much time with the Isbell’s as I did with my own family. I have so many wonderful memories of Mrs. Pat & I’m thankful for the impact she had on my life.

Psalm 118:24, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” I hope you enjoy the pink only paintings!

This weekend I will be participating in Art Walk in Birmingham, Al. My tent will be set up on Morris Ave. I am so excited! There are so many talented artists in this show…you won’t be disappointed. Here is the link to Art Walk’s website for more specific info. Lots of entertainment! Hope to see you there.

We are having a great summer! Filled w/ kids playing, vacations and not to mention…work! I’m so grateful for these jobs that have kept my art business going this summer. Right now I’m working on a special project that I can’t wait to share once it’s complete. The end of August is my deadline so stay tuned! Here are some phone pics of summer work. The quality doesn’t do the paintings justice but it’s what I’ve got😉.

This series of paintings are from an interior design job. Lots of metallics & neutrals.

This is a client commission I got through the spring art festivals. I wish I had a better photo…these tend to look so washed out in the sun. In person you can see the layers much better. There is a faint orange wash on this series that I love!

A couple bought the bottom painting at the MCAC & commissioned me to paint a partner for it (top). I think it turned out nicely & loved that I got to see it in their home!

This job came from a hometown friend in Meridian MS. She had seen another set of paintings I did w/ this color scheme. I LOVE this series the most!

I have been looking forward to the MBAA spring art festival. Last year was my first year to participate & it was awesome. This year didn’t disappoint! Beautiful weather in a beautiful venue plus great customers equals a blessed & grateful girl. Here are some pics from the day:

I have a few days to rest & then back at it for the Magic City Art Connection this Friday-Sunday. 10-6 in Linn Park, downtown Birmingham.
